1. Where can I buy the ENC on-board units (tags) and ENC packages?

You can buy an ENC on-board unit (tag) at any of our points of sale (at the Učka Tunnel, at Toll Plazas Pula and Umag), from Monday to Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) or online by filling in the order form.

You can select between the four types of ENC packages. Find more details about ENC packages offered by Bina-Istra here.

2. How do I use the ENC on-board unit properly?

The ENC on-board unit (tag) comes ready to use. It must be placed on the windscreen in the specifically designed area. On most cars, this area is the shaded or mottled area behind the rear vision mirror.

3. How can I use the ENC on-board unit (tag) issued by HAC and ARZ on the Istrian Y Motorway?

You can use the ENC on-board unit (tag) issued by HAC or ARZ on the Istrian Y Motorway after you had it encoded at one of Bina-Istra's points of points of sale (at the Učka Tunnel, at Toll Plazas of Umag or Pula), from Monday to Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Please note that each Concessionaire requires a separate subscription account and has specific terms and conditions, depending on the selected ENC package.

4. Does an ENC on-board unit (tag) apply to all vehicle categories?

An ENC on-board unit (tag) can be used for all vehicle categories. You achieve a significant toll discount depending on the vehicle category you registered and the ENC package you selected.

5. In what ways can I top up my ENC account?

Internet and SMS service: You can top up your account using the Internet and SMS services. The service is available 24/7 and is activated within a few minutes. Your balance status is also available within a few minutes. In order to activate the Internet and SMS services you need to register a credit card which will be charged during account top up. This service can be used to top up the account from a computer and, if you decide to register the number of your mobile phone, you can top up the account by simply texting an SMS.

M-Top Up: Our users can top up their accounts using a mobile device. It is sufficient to access Bina-Istra's web site or click on the link to top up your account by selecting one of the offered bank cards (VISA, MasterCard, Diners, Maestro).

Quotation-Proforma Invoice Top Up: Should you opt for the third option of topping up, simply access your user account to select the preferred amount of top-up and make payment based on the received proforma invoice.

6. How can I check the toll rates applicable on the Istrian Motorway?

7. I have an ENC unit on board my vehicle. Can I use all toll lanes or only lanes marked with an ENC sign?

Users of ENC on-board units (tags) can now use all available toll lanes. This will make your passage through toll stations faster and simpler.

8. How can I obtain a VAT invoice?

Users who require a VAT invoice to obtain tax refund on the toll paid, either in cash or by payment card (bank or INA cards), for the use of the Istrian Motorway,  can create VAT invoices online. Available only upon previous registration in our system.

9. Where can I get up-to-date information on current roadworks on the Istrian motorway?
